The Awards of Excellence program is designed to recognize and acknowledge outstanding individuals and companies that have made significant contributions to the Electric Foodservice Council mission and contributed to improving and advancing the foodservice industry.

Through this program the Council encourages and demonstrates our support for:
  • improved energy efficiency and sustainability of equipment
  • improved working conditions for foodservice operations
  • educational programs and materials that enhance foodservice operations
  • innovative ideas
  • increased industry support
  • contributions that provide solutions to problems facing the industry
  • programs, ideas and innovations designed to increase performance
  • programs, ideas and innovations that improve productivity
  • increased professional involvement

Award Categories

Manufacturer of the Year
Successful partnerships make successful programs. This prestigious award recognizes an EFC manufacturer member that has exhibited an exceptional commitment to the EFC and the electric foodservice industry.  Elements of this award may include sales and marketing support fir EFC, equipment innovation, improved equipment efficiency and sustainability, as well as, participation in EFC programs and events.

Innovation of the Year
This distinctive award is given to an EFC manufacturer who has introduced into the market a unique or enhanced piece of electric foodservice equipment that advances the foodservice industry and improves productivity, efficiency, or solves other issues facing the foodservice industry.

Efficiency Improvement Award
This award will recognize a manufacturer that has clearly demonstrated improved energy efficiency and sustainability in an existing equipment type or a new equipment innovation.

Utility Rep of the Year
This very special award is to recognize outstanding individual utility representatives whose accomplishments and successes have had a positive impact on his or her company’s foodservice program and the electric foodservice industry.

President’s Choice Award
This award recognizes an individual, utility, or manufacturer that has greatly contributed to the advancement of the foodservice industry and the success of the EFC.

Hall of Fame Award
This prestigious award recognizes those outstanding individuals, companies or organizations that have made significant contribution to the development, growth and advancement of the Electric Foodservice Council.

Please Note:  One Award per category.  All categories may not be awarded.


Entry Rules and Guidelines
  • All entries and materials must be postmarked by
  • The "Awards of Excellence" is for the time period between TBA and TBA 2008 by a utility or manufacturer member of the Electric Foodservice Council.
  • Any EFC Utility or Manufacturer member may submit one entry for each category.
  • A separate entry form must accompany each entry.
  • Any supporting documentation must be submitted with entry. No materials received after entry deadline will be included.
  • Entries become the property of the EFC and will not be returned. The EFC has the right to publish excerpts of information from your entry in EFC publications and/or national trade journals and publications.
  • Entries must be printed legibly or typewritten.
  • Entry forms must be complete and signed by the EFC member submitting the entry.
  • An awards committee consisting of recognized individuals from the foodservice industry will select the winners.
