The Electric Foodservice Council Mission:

To provide energy efficiency information and customer solutions for the foodservice industry.

The Electric Foodservice Council members provide education on energy efficiency, advertising, advocacy and promotional activities in cooperation with foodservice manufacturers and trade allies to advance the foodservice industry. We work to assure a consistent industry approach to foodservice and take advantage of available synergy’s by developing partnerships, and coordinating with other industry organizations. 
    The EFC is made up of electric utilities, equipment manufacturers, and others involved in the foodservice industry that has as a goal either "influencing the purchase of efficient and productive electric cooking equipment" through dealers, distributors, or manufacturers representatives.  Or, EFC members may also be in the business of "providing efficiency/conservation information" to their customers on electric cooking. 
    The Goal of the EFC is to be a collaborative resource for member utilities and manufacturer partners, who share the cost of promoting efficient, effective, electric cooking equipment that will enhance profitability of the foodservice customers (restaurant, school, grocery store, etc) operations.
    The EFC provides its members a national presence with both industry customers and industry vendors.  The EFC is recognized as "the premier resource for information on foodservice in the industry."  Customers recognize that EFC members are a credible source for information.  This has been demonstrated through numerous testimonials of presidents of the country's largest chains.
The EFC also provides industry representation for members utilities with foodservice industry and other electric industry groups such as EEI, NRA, and NAFEM.  The EFC represents the member electric utilities and manufacturers on codes, regulations, technical issues that impact the ability of utilities and manufacturers to fairly promote the electric cooking advantages and benefits; for example, NEC, ASHRAE, ASTM and Energy Star.
